How We Get Our Plants From Us To You
Emory Knoll Farms is a wholesale nursery. We sell our plants to the trade in 72-cell flats. Shipping arrangements are made on a per project basis, based on the quantity ordered, and delivery location. We work with each customer to find the most economical means of shipping possible, according to the access to your site, and the scheduling needs of your project.
Via Ground Carrier
Most orders are shipped via UPS Ground. Delivery can take anywhere from 24 hours to seven days, according to the project location. Plants sent via ground carrier are shipped in specially designed and extremely durable (and 100% recyclable) cardboard boxes. We usually ship three to four 72-cell flats of plants (based on plant species enclosed), or 25 pounds of cuttings, in one box. There is a $4.50/box charge included in shipping/handling costs, where applicable.
Via Freight Carrier
Orders of 24 boxes and over will be loaded onto pallets (40 box limit per pallet), stabilized and stretch-wrapped, and shipped through UPS Freight or another approved freight carrier. There is a $4.50/box charge included in shipping/handling costs, where applicable. Plants are sent in specially-designed boxes to protect the plants during shipment.
Via Emory Knoll Farms Truck
For orders over 60 flats, we offer nursery-to-site delivery using our own trucks. Truck deliveries are made Tuesdays through Fridays. Weekend deliveries are available by special prior arrangement, and may have additional costs applied. Plant flats are stacked on pallets, and stretch-wrapped for easy mobility onto roofs. Boxes are available upon request, at an additional charge, if necessary. Please contact us for rates.
Customer Pick-up
We are happy to accommodate customers who would like to pick up their orders here at Emory Knoll Farms. Once you have placed your Sales Order, we ask that you notify us of your pick-up date at least one week in advance, so we can have your plants pulled from our inventory and ready for your arrival.
A Small Disclaimer
While we will do everything we can to get your plants to you on time, we cannot control the weather. Very infrequently, extreme weather conditions (i.e. unexpected heat, cold, or storms) and/or distance, may require a more rapid service (i.e. air service) or, cause a delay in shipping. We notify our customers immediately if this occurs. When shipping plants, we consider the health of the plants first and foremost, so that you receive the best possible product, ready to install.
